Certified Building in Texas – Quick Response
This is where individual pieces of materials like brick, stone, marble, granite, and concrete block are laid together using mortar to create certain structures. They are used either for pure aesthetic value or to provide structural integrity. Many people choose masonry construction because it is a highly durable form of construction. Granite is often used to construct counter tops because it looks nice, is easy to clean, and is much more durable when compared to laminate counter tops. The use of materials such as brick and stone can increase the thermal mass of a building. Brick typically won’t require painting and so can provide a structure with reduced life-cycle costs. Masonry is very heat resistant and thus provides fire protection. Masonry walls are more resistant to projectiles, such as debris from hurricanes or tornadoes.

  • Brickwork is masonry produced by a bricklayer, using bricks and mortar to build up brick structures such as walls. Brickwork is also used to finish corners, door, and window openings, etc. in buildings made of other materials.
  • Stonework Stone masonry is the craft of shaping rough pieces of rock into accurate geometrical shapes, mostly simple, but some of considerable complexity, and then arranging the resulting stones, often together with mortar, to form structures.
  • Thin Stone is used to as a protective and decorative covering for exterior or interior horizontal walls and surfaces. The Veneer is typically 1 inch thick and must weigh less than 15 lbs per square foot so that no additional structural supports will be required. Stone Veneer can me made from Natural Stone as well as Manufactured Stone.
  • Thin Brick An actual clay masonry facing product specifically manufactured for use as an alternative to traditional masonry and other building exteriors, usually either embedded into a concrete substrate or adhered to a panel system.
  • Limestone is readily available and relatively easy to cut into blocks or more elaborate carving. It is also long-lasting and stands up well to exposure.
  • Cast Stone cast stone is a Portland cement-based architectural precast concrete product manufactured using high quality fine and coarse aggregate as its primary constituents. The use of a high percentage of fine aggregate creates a very smooth, consistent texture for the building elements being cast, resembling natural cut stone.
  • Tuck Pointing is a way of using two contrasting colors of mortar in brickwork, one color matching the bricks themselves, to give an artificial impression that very fine joints have been made.
  • Lintel Replacement A lintel can be a load-bearing building component, a decorative architectural element, or a combined ornamented structural item. It is often found over portals, doors, and windows.
  • Masonry Sealing and Waterproofing Remodeling is becoming a much more common and sensible approach to the remodeling process. Design – Build is a process whereby a homeowner works with one company through the entire remodeling process. This process includes three phases; the Design & Product Selection Phase, the Detailed Proposal for Construction Phase and the Construction Phase
